Academic Procedure


GENERAL

Before the start of an academic session or a course, press advertisements are issued inviting applications for admission. Information is also given on University Website. Applications must be made in the prescribed form available at the Institute office. The application for admission is considered when it is complete and all relevant papers are submitted in time with fees. Candidates have to enclose only attested copies of certificates with the application form

The admission procedure requires the candidates to present himself / herself for a written test and /or personal interview as may be stipulated from time to time. Previous years question papers are available on the website / in the Library for reference use only.

The Institute sets up an Admission Committee to devise the admission procedure, screen applications and finalise the selection of candidates. The committee decides on the nature of tests to be conducted for determining the suitability of the candidate for the course. Admission panels conduct tests and interviews.

The objective of admission tests and personal interview is to assess the candidate’s aptitude and suitability for the profession. Since the medium of instruction is English, the admission tests seek to ascertain the student’s proficiency in English language. The decision of the panel for admissions is final.

Selected candidates have to produce original copies of HSC/graduate degree certificates along with the certificates of birth date, school leaving/transference certificate before paying fees.

Initial admission applies only to the first semester. Admitted students are expected to maintain registration until the completion of the course, to the satisfaction of the Institute

Reservation of seats for reserved category candidates for admission is available as per University / Government of Maharashtra norms. Candidates have to provide complete and correct documents to avail of these.

Government of India Scholarships and Free-ship schemes are available for reserved category candidates. Candidates are advised to bring their caste certificate, income certificate, relocation certificate and such documents specified with changes from time to time as required by Social Welfare Department. These forms should be completed to take benefit of taking admission paying only minimum fees. Candidates who do not produce correct certificates will have to pay full fees.

Select needy open and reserved category candidates may apply for assistance under VC scheme, when announced.


GUIDELINES TO RESERVED CATEGORY STUDENTS (SC, ST, DT, NT, SBC, OBC)

Reservation of Seats: may change with government of Maharashtra orders. Presently it is as below: SC 13%, ST 7%, DTA 3%, NTB 2.5%, NTC 3.5%, NTD 2%, SBC/OBC 19%. Women reservation 30%. 3% for : Wards of (a) Central /State Govt. Employee's(transfer cases) / (b) Defence personnel / (c) Freedom Fighter, 1} Widow / Divorcee female 2} Physically /Visually challenged 3} Outstanding performance in Sports & Cultural Activities (national /state level)

Reservation of seats for reserved category for admission is available as per University norms. Candidates have to supply complete and correct documents to avail of these.


ATTESTED PHOTO COPIES OF FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION OF THE FORM.

  1. Caste Certificate in the name of the candidate,
  2. Father’s Income Certificate for the previous financial year from Tahsildar’s Office for scholarship and Form 16 A for freeship students. In case of Father’s death mother’s income certificate along with Father’s Death Certificate;
  3. Ration Card;
  4. Mark sheet, Passing Sheet SSC & HSC and the Leaving Certificate for the U. G. students; SSC, HSC, F.Y., S.Y., T.Y. Mark Sheet, Passing Certificate for P.G. students;
  5. U.G (Maharashtra Board -4 Photocopy Set), Other Board- 6 Photocopy Set. P.G & Masters(Mumbai University- 4 Photocopy Set), Other University- 6 Photocopy Set.
  6. Experience certificate as required in course eligibility criteria;
  7. An internship completion certificate from hospitals.
ADMISSION TIME:- 10 AM TO 3.30 PM

CAST VALIDITY CERTIFICATE. IF NOT AVAILABLE THEN ONE ATTESTED PHOTO COPY OF FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED FOR CASTE VALIDITY:

  1. Caste certificate in the name of a candidate.
  2. Primary school leaving certificate of student or father or grandfather or uncle (paternal).
  3. Satbara Utara ( Extract of 7,7 A & 12)
  4. Caste Validity Certificate of blood relative (paternal side)
  5. Affidavit on Stamp Paper of Rs. 100/- as per format.

ORIGINAL AND THREE ATTESTED PHOTO COPIES OF FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS ARE TO BE SUBMITTED AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION.

  1. Caste Certificate in the name of candidate. Father’s Income Certificate for the previous financial year from Tahsildar’s Office for scholarship and Form 16 A for freeship students. In case of Father’s death mother’s income certificate alongwith Father’s death certificate.
  2. District Change Certificate for students from colleges other than Mumbai University or Mumbai Board. ST – from Ekatmik Adivasi Prakalp. SC, DT,NT, SBC, OBC – from Vibhagiya Samaj Kalyan Adhikari
  3. Non-Creamy Layer Certificate for DT,NT, DTA, NT(B,C,D),OBC, SBC
  4. Ration Card
  5. Gap certificate if there is a gap.
  6. I) Mark sheet and the Leaving Certificate for the U. G. students II) F.Y., S.Y., T.Y. Mark Sheet, Passing Certificate for P.G. students
  7. Experience certificate as required in course eligibility criteria.
  8. Internship completion certificate from hospital.

GUIDELINES TO ALL STUDENTS SEEKING ADMISSION TO VARIOUS UNDER-GRADUATE AND POST-GRADUATE DIPLOMA COURSES CONDUCTED BY GARWARE INSTITUTE

Note: Candidates are requested to read and follow the information carefully

The Application Form duly completed and affixed with a passport size photograph is to be submitted along with a fee of Rs.250/- for under-graduate course and Rs.300/- for post-graduate course, in cash at the cash counter. Collect your Admission card for Entrance Test & Interview from cash counter with receipt of admission fee. The candidate should bring this card when coming for Entrance Test & Interview.

The following attested photo copies of documents should be enclosed with Application Form.

For Under-Graduate Course 
(a) Mark Sheet, Passing Sheet of SSC, HSC & Leaving Certificate.
(b) Aadhar card, Experience Certificate if required

For Post-Graduate Course
(a) Mark sheet, Passing Sheet of SSC, HSC, F.Y, S.Y, and T.Y.
(b) Aadhar card, Leaving Certificate(HSC) or Transfer Certificate(Degree), Experience Certificate if required.
(c) Date of Birth Certificate.


Students awaiting results of graduate degree examination can also apply for admission provided proof for appearing in final examination (Hall Ticket) is submitted. The entrance test and interview of the candidate will be conducted. However, fees for admission will be accepted subject to submission of graduation mark sheet in the given time schedule only (seats will not be reserved in any case).

Students can take admission to any P.G., U.G. fill time or part time courses along with their regular degree programme subject to 75% attendance.

All Courses will be conducted subject to availability of at least 15 students securing admission for the same, failing which the Institute holds the right to defer the course and refund the tuition fees to the students.


Form fees / entrance test fees once paid will not be refunded.


The student will be qualified for admission to the Diploma Course only after passing the entrance test and securing the required marks/grades in the interview.

The Candidates have to appear for Entrance Test & Interview producing their I-Card, a Time Table for which will be put up on Notice Board and website (www.mu.ac.in/garware) A Candidate who fails to appear for the test and the Interview will be marked absent & disqualified. No enquirers on this aspect are entertained. A Merit list of selected candidates is put up from time to time. Candidates should complete admission process & pay fees before the date & time stipulated in the selection list. Waiting list is put up after the completion of main list. Candidates should keep track of Notice Board for this. A Candidate not turning up and does not take up admission by last date will forfeit his chance of admission.
